Honeybees and Gateway Arch

Mellie hates seeing sights.

My folks dragged me to the top when I was a kid.
I got a shower at a truck stop and feel human again.  It’s ungodly muggy here!
We stayed at this honey farm last night.

It’s BIG.

The drive has been very hot with the heat blowing on my feet.  Nothing seems to make it shut off.  I can’t even see where the vent is blowing from.  I bought a 12v at the truck stop but it is woefully inadequate.

I can hear locusts even through my noise cancelling headphones as I drive.  They are super loud.  I think the Bugslayer got a couple because there were some HUGE splats with discernable thorax parts stuck to it most of the afternoon.  I didn’t dare use the wiper.

Mostly though, the humidity is carrying amazing perfumes of honeysuckle and blooming trees which are in full bloom all along Ohio and Indiana so far.

Also, if you know any raccoons, tell them to never, EVER try to cross a road.  I think they must have a 100% fail rate.

Tomorrow we head toward Kansas City to see an ex-Juneau resident and friend of ours from charter!!
